Therapy:
Hello and welcome to my practice. Asking for help is not easy, so I am so glad you are here!
“I am a therapist who both listens and engages, often presenting challenges to consider outside perspectives while greatly emphasizing collaboration with you.”
How do your core values shape your approach to therapy?
Honesty, open-mindedness, and respect are core values of mine that have shaped my work with individuals. I aim to create a trusting and safe environment where the therapeutic relationship can form a strong foundation for therapy going forward.
I earned my Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Baruch College. I have my Bachelors of Science Degree in Applied Psychology, with a concentration in I/O Psychology, from Farmingdale State College.
“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”
I am trained in Exposure Response Prevention (ERP). An evidence based practice that is commonly recommended for obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) where research has shown it to be one of the most effective treatments for this disorder.
Confidentiality
I adhere to the regulations of The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) which means that all sessions as well as personal information are kept confidential and private. The only limitation to confidentiality is if the client express a plan to harm themselves or others, I am obligated by law to reach out to law enforcement as well as emergency contacts to protect the client and ensure safety.
